Tools that help me run my small business
Lisa WoodsRunning a business on your own is not for the faint hearted. You have to wear numerous hats and learn skills you had never even thought about until you needed to do something and couldn't afford to pay someone else to do it. It is a constant juggleing act and let's face it, none of us started our businesses to do admin.
In a bid to help those wo are starting out or who are ruinning out of hours in the day running their small businesses I am going to share some of the tools I use to make my life easier and regain some precious time in my day.
- Canva - I love Canva and I absolutley recommend getting the paid version. I started out with the free option which was great but as I grew more familiar with it I found that to make the most of the platform the paid version is the way to go. At £100 for a year it is not bad considering what you can do with it.
- Pie Tax App - this app has made staying on top of my accounts so easy. It is really easy to use if you are not a techy person like me and is ready to comply with the new Making Tax Digital in the UK. In fact it is one of the HMRC recommended platforms for MTD.
- Tailwind - this post scheduler has been a game changer for me, saving me so much time! Tailwind primarily focuses on scheduling content to Pinterest however, you can also schedule to Facebook and Instagram business accounts. It integrates with Shopify and with Canva making life so much easier. Design in Canva, transfer to Tailwind then add the captions, links etc and schedule.
Running a small business as a soloprenuer doesn't need to be difficult but it does require the right tools to help things run smoothly.
